
Karryn has interviewed some of the most influencial people in the world and loves stories that allow her to make a difference.
Her love of sport took her from teaching high school physical education to the world of television. Karryn has always had a keen interest in sport, working as a high school physical education teacher before commencing her career in television.In 1989 Karryn joined the ABC, reporting for ABC Television sports news and ABC Radio sport.
She also worked as a researcher for the 7.30 Report.
In 1990 Karryn switched networks to work for WIN Television as a sports reporter and freelance on-camera reporter for the Wide World of Sports and the Today Show.
She stayed with Nine for the next 10 years, during which time she reported for Extra, in Brisbane and the Gold Cost and National Nine News.
Between 1993 and 1995 she was the Gold Coast Bureau Chief for National Nine News.
In September 2000, Karryn was offered a reporting position with Seven Brisbane's new magazine program, Local Edition.
When the show folded, she was approached by Today Tonight in Brisbane to come on board as a senior reporter.
Karryn lists some of her standout stories as the Graham Richardson prostitute scandal, Brendan Abbott's bank heists, the rallies of Pauline Hanson's heyday and Federal and State elections.
She has interviewed George Clooney, Alicia Silverstone, Richard Chamberlain, Catherine Zeta Jones, Billy Zane and Don Johnson.
On a personal level, Karryn's favourite stories have been those that led to changes in legislation.
