In the past year, Sonia has interviewed the biggest names in the celebrity world and hosted the successful Seven show, Dancing with the Stars.
She made her debut as Tina Sparkles in the hit movie Strictly Ballroom. The role was a natural progression for Sonia, who taught dance at NIDA for four years and won numerous awards throughout her illustrious dance career. The call to the media was too strong however, as soon after Strictly Ballroom, she accepted a job as reporter on Nine's kids' show Wonder World.
She also made several appearances on ABC TV's series Three Men and A Baby Grand.
In 1997, after completing an arts degree at Sydney's University of Technology, Sonia joined Seven's current affairs program 11AM as an entertainment reporter.
Highlights from 11AM include getting down with Riverdance's Michael Flatley and interviewing ex-Spice Girl Gerri Halliwell and Scottish grunge band Garbage.
After two years with 11AM Sonia joined Today Tonight and the lifestyle program Sydney Weekender.
Highlights from Today Tonight include chewing the fat with Elton John, pop sensation Britney Spears and actors Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.
In her spare time Sonia prefers the quiet life, dining with friends, watching movies and going to the theatre.
She occasionally loses her composure though - most notoriously at Sydney Swans games, where she is fast becoming their most vocal supporter.
She returned to her ballroom dancing beginnings in 2004 and again in 2005, hosting the wildly successful Dancing With the Stars with Daryl Somers.
