It's all about the best outcome with the least downtime, and in the case of cosmetic procedures, no telltale signs.
Dermal fillers, long popular in the lips and cheeks are now being used in new areas - the hands, chest and nose.
Sue feels the first signs of ageing have unfairly zoned in on her hands. She has decided to put her hands in the hands of Dr. Farah Meher-Homji from Sydney's Cosmos Clinic.
"I can see instant results, it feels firmer and I can't see the veins - I'm really, really pleased," Sue said of the procedure.
For around $500, Sue's rejuvenated hands are now in Hollywood company. Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Madonna are all reportedly fans of this treatment.
"We use juvaderm which is made of hyaluronic acid and that's already present in your cells, so you won't be allergic to it - this substance exists in your body anyway," Dr. Meher-Homii said.
There's new focus on the chest, helping to overcome sun damage, thin skin and fine lines.
Elizabeth from Perth is keen to turn back years of damage.
"I'm delighted with it, it's made the world of difference. It's lost that dry lined look and pumped it up and I'm looking forward to the summer so that I can get some nice dresses and not have to hide," Elizabeth said.
"The best thing about it is its safe, it's natural, you get the results instantly, you get to walk out in about 20 minutes with restored volume. There's no downtime and there's minimal swelling," said Sarah MacRae from beauty website Beauty Heaven.
Sarah says that alternatives should be considered.
"Test out products before hand, I think a lot of people are almost rushing to get a treatment, where you may get the required result just by using a product," she said.
For mum of four, Caroline Koulouris, there were no creams that could remove the bump in her nose.
"I like that there's no bruising, scarring, downtime, you don't have to have any time off work and you just pop in there like your having your hair cut," Caroline said.
Her consultant, Dr Ralph Bright from Macquarie Cosmetic Medicine, explains this procedure isn't for everyone.
"Basically the people who will benefit from this procedure are people who have hollows or sharp corners on the contours of their nose, so by putting a little bit of filler in, you can soften the humps and the hollows and the bumps," he said."Hollywood celebrities they need to look good all the time, so that's why they like to have a procedure like this - where the nose can be injected very quickly and once they walk out no one will ever know they've ever had anything done," Dr. Bright added.
