A week ago Kerry Bienke made an emotional plea, warning Australia of her son's reckless romancing, a lifestyle that was tearing her family apart.
Kerry didn't think her plea would be so effective, but it resulted in the coming together of eight of Dean Moorfoot's alleged children and six of their mothers.
This reunification has made Kerry Bienke's campaign worthwhile - it has brought together one big happy family.
"I'm just so excited. I'm so happy we've had them. There's no denying they're all my grandkids. I see Dean in every one of them and he's got such strong features, it just comes out in leaps and bounds in all the kids," says Kerry.
It's believed Dean may have another six children, including one to a woman who has written to Kerry Bienkein in an email.
In this email, the woman states she has a six-year-old son who is Dean's biological child. The email also explains that there is no proof of paternity as Dean, "...disappeared and could not be found to take a DNA test."
Dean's mother was hoping her emotional plea would shock Dean into finally standing up to his responsibilities, but it appears she has failed.
While Dean has now agreed to take a DNA test, prompting his alleged children across the country to do the same, he is refusing the mothers access to the test results.
Specialist DNA testing can establish whether all these children have the same father. Not that Kerry has any doubt.
"Look at the children, look at their faces, his features are so strong in every one of those children you've only got to look at them," she says.
Dean does admit to fathering some of the children in question - he says Courtney, Melissa Martin's daughter, is his. So too he says Carla, the daughter of Julia van Dyke, is his.
If the children in question are all Dean's, he is costing the taxpayer in the vicinity of $300,000 a year in benefits.
Dean says he pays $60 a fortnight maintenance - but even this figure is in dispute.
Many of the women have given up on chasing Dean for money. Now they are seeking acknowledgment of Dean's paternity for the sake of their children.
Until then, these women will have to be content with each other - which is more than they had two weeks ago.
For Kerry, while she may have failed to bring her son to his senses, she has succeeded in bringing her family together and in warning other women.
