Chasing the fountain of youth at 20 years of age might sound ludicrous but in a time when perfection is hunted and needed, it is little surprise young models have cosmetic procedures.
Aspiring models sometimes feel the pressure to be the very best.
Plastic surgeon Dr Kourosh Tavakoli believes some women have been led to feel unhappy with their bodies.
"In my practice, I have definitely seen a 25-30 per cent increase in lip augmentation in the 21-30 year old demographic in the past two years," he said.
"Enhancing yourself at age 20 or 21 is part of our society I don't think [women] should be crucified for wanting to enhance her looks."
Despite all of the horror celebrity after photos, Dr Tavakoli believes that we can expect the obsession with perfection to continue.
"I think the trend will not stop as long as the media produces images of perfect women and perfect bodies and faces the pressure will mount on younger people," he said.
"Our job as plastic surgeons is to filter the very young ones out and the ones who are seeking enhancement for the wrong reason."
